About this site

Who is behind FixSupport?

FixSupport is an independent team of writers and hobbyist technicians who publish free, plain-language diagnostics and repair guides for smartphones. We are not a manufacturer, a carrier or an official support channel — just an educational resource built to help you fix things yourself.

Is FixSupport free to use?

Yes. Every guide, checklist and diagnostic on this site is free to read, with no account required. We may show clearly-labelled advertising to keep the lights on, but it never affects the advice we give.

Who writes your guides?

Our guides are researched and written by our editorial team, reviewed for accuracy against current phone behaviour, and updated over time. See our Editorial Policy for how we work.

Using the guides

Do your guides work on all phones?

They are written to be vendor-neutral and apply to Android and mobile phones generally. Menu names and button layouts vary a little between models, so we describe the general path (for example, Settings, Battery) and the standard gestures rather than one brand's exact wording.

Are your guides safe to follow?

Our steps lead with the lowest-risk fixes and clearly flag anything that could affect your data, so you can stop before a risky step. We always recommend a backup first. For physical or hardware faults we point you to a qualified local technician rather than risky DIY.

The menu on my phone looks different — what do I do?

Menu names and button layouts vary a little between models. We describe the general path (for example, Settings, Battery) and the standard gestures so you can find the equivalent option on your phone.

Repairs & data

Do you repair phones?

No. FixSupport is informational only — we don't offer or sell repairs. Our fix guides help you resolve software issues yourself, and for physical faults we explain what's happening so you can brief a qualified local technician.

How do I back up before trying a fix?

Turn on cloud backup in Settings, or copy your photos and files to a computer. Confirm the backup shows today's date before you start. We recommend a fresh backup before any major step.

Do you recommend specific repair shops?

We don't endorse specific businesses. We recommend choosing a reputable, qualified technician, asking about quality parts, and checking any warranty coverage first.

Content & feedback

How often are the guides updated?

We review guides regularly and show a "last updated" date on each one. Phone software changes over time, so we keep steps aligned with current behaviour and describe the general approach where menus differ by model.

How do I contact you or suggest a guide?

Use our contact form to ask a question, request a new guide, or report something that's out of date. Reader feedback directly shapes what we cover next and helps us keep every guide accurate.

How do I report an error in a guide?

Use our contact form and mention the guide title. We review every correction request and update guides promptly when something needs fixing.
